Shoji Lights :  beauty with a twist tm

To the left is the original 3 foot prototype.  Its components are organic and renewable.  Black bamboo --grown just outside my studio-- and recycled papers team up in much the same environmentally low impact way that the Japanese have used to build walls in their summer houses for centuries. Shoji Lights are a fascinating, green solution to mass produced mood lighting.

Available with or without leafy inclusions and also with custom silhouettes which reveal themselves only when lit.  The irregular angles of bamboo ensure each charming fixture will be one of a kind.

Beautiful as a stand alone piece of sculpture or massed together for a magical, tribal feel, the effect is dramatic in daylight, but truly makes magic at dusk.   Lit with an electric candle or candle in hurricane glass, their warm glow makes everything it touches just a little more beautiful.

Custom made for tabletop or floor to your specifications; natural white papers with choice of leaf inclusion, or color-washed.  From 12 inches tall.  Also available with original hand-cut silhouettes.  Contact me with your needs for a quote.
