Hi!  I'm Leslie, the resident surrealist and I Iove what I do.

It has been said that men tell jokes and women tell stories. My specialty is creating characters and tales that rely on metaphor, allusion and the occasional word gag.  I sculpt in clay and paint with custom acrylics and sometimes use  Day-Glo fluorescent paints with glow-in-the dark stuff to add punch.

I play hard to push my own boundaries by experimenting using common materials in uncommon ways. Watching an idea come to life in my own hands is a power
ful and profoundly humbling experience.  Sometimes when the clay talks, even I'm surprised to see the results.

My dad and others provided me support and encouragement along the way and they'd be delighted to know that my work has been chosen for public and privately commissioned works; some of what I've imagined has been exhibited on four continents.

Whether it's food for thought, a promotional mascot or just giving form to your own bogeyman, contact me and ask me how I can bring to life what you've imagined. I'd love to hear from you. Write here to
chat.
Leslie Edwards Humez is a Cleveland native who lives in Lake County, Ohio with her husband Nick and cats, Billy and Missy.

Q.  Travelers have been known to decorate suitcases with stickers. Do you suppose aliens plaster travel stickers on their ships?

Hats Off to the Farmingdale man (S.M. Sr.) who wrote in to say that he was vexed by a misspelled word on this site.  He failed, however, to mention on which of these 400 pages it was located.

Lots of my work is seen on these pages, but much of what I did for fun in 2019 and 2020 involved an amazing collaboration with my friend and fellow monster-maker extraordinaire
PJ Halliwill.
We decided to pass small sculptures back and forth between us, adding structure and paint as we went. The result was a bunch of amazing work. Here's a sample of a piece of small work I created from her original Valentine. So grateful for the experience!
